Jody Gerut introduced Mets fans to the new look Padres right from the start. Homering in a game the Padres would win 6-5. How fitting that Heath Bell, a former Met, would get the save at New York's ballpark opener. Also of note is the Padres signing of Chad Gaudin, a former starter for the Oakland A's. In 07' Gaudin went 11-13 with a mid-4 era in the American League. I see this guy fitting into the rotation by early May.
